Prescot Apprentices Celebrate at UK’s Largest Graduation
Over 400 young people from across Merseyside took part in the UK’s largest formal graduation at Liverpool Cathedral last month.
Several Prescot apprentices, including Laura Bell, graduated on 29 April, in what was the first event of its kind in the North West.
“I think the Apprenticeship Graduation ceremony is a great way to celebrate the achievements of apprentices in the region,” said Laura.
“I enjoy working at [Prescot-based] ColorMatrix, and I feel I have learnt a lot whilst working at the company along with completing my college course.”
The ceremony offered level 3 and level 4 NVQ achievers the same recognition given to university students upon the completion of a degree.
“The ceremonies were hugely successful in showcasing the variety and value of apprenticeships and vocational learning,” said Siobhan Saunders, Chair of Liverpool City Region Apprenticeship Hub.
“But more than that, they were fitting celebrations of hard work and dedication that might otherwise have been overlooked.
“I feel honoured to have had a front row seat to it all.”
