The bakery was founded in 1924 by Marion Ray and occupies the same premises to this day. Granddaughter Michele Ray took over in 1987. Since that time, the shop has boasted a delicatessen and coffee shop alongside the mouth-watering array of traditional cakes, pies, desserts, breads, pastries and other baked goods.

    Recent visits have proved very disappointing!Not the Rays that has thrived on its reputation for Yeats.
    Meat and potato pies,pastry not the same.
    Eccles Cakes hard!
    Continentals hard layer in the middle
    Pink topped sponge cake No longer available.
    What on earth has gone wrong?
