It’s nice that people are able to celebrate St George’s Day without some pathetic lame brain screaming “Racists” at the top of their voices. Good on you Olive and Betty and the rest of the residents of South Avenue.

When was the last time you actually heard someone screaming “Racists!” because someone celebrated St George’s Day? I doubt it really happens much, if ever.

I think I was perhaps a tad too loose with my use of language. Of course it is very rare for anyone to shout “racists” because someone is celebrating St Georges’ Day. What I should have said was –
It’s nice that people are able to wave the English Flag without some pathetic lame brain screaming “Racists” at the top of their voices.
If you doubt that this happens then you should try being in an area where the EDL are holding a rally and listen to what those who turn out to demonstrate against the rally are shouting. I can assure you it is a lot more then just “racists.”

I’m so pleased to see this picture of olive kilshaw and Betty England . I’ve been researching my family tree and these two ladies are my Nan’s cousins. I came across this photograph by chance and I’m so excited . I’m hoping I’ll be able to contact them soon . Well done Prescot online . Beautiful photograph x
