Prescot Liberal Democrats have chosen young candidate Carl Cashman to fight both forthcoming by-elections in Prescot. Carl will contest the Prescot East seat for Knowsley and the Prescot North West seat for the Town Council. Carl will be asking Prescot electors from across the entire town for their votes.

Mr Cashman said: “I am honoured to be chosen as the Lib Dem candidate in the forthcoming by-elections in Prescot. It is a very proud moment to stand for election, and I hope that I can get to see as many people as I can to show everyone how much I care about this historic town.”

Carl is studying Politics and Philosophy at the University of Liverpool and is currently working part time at Prescot Retail Park.

His agent, local Lib Dem leader Cllr Ian Smith, said: “Carl has new ideas to take the town forward. He has the insight into local government through his studies, and the enthusiasm to get out on the streets to see as many Prescot people as he can.

“This is going to be a close election, but Carl will listen to Prescot people and ensure that they have a voice on both the town and borough councils.”
