Dinosaurs on the Pavement?
Someone needs his head checking. That person is either yours truly or the person who designed the sign below, which has baffled me for over a year.
I first saw it on a pavement in Whiston in early 2012. I have since seen it elsewhere in Prescot and around Knowsley, and all the time I was convinced it was a dinosaur. So it’s on a leash – but haven’t you ever seen The Flintstones? Everyone had a pet T-Rex back then.
Given the slogan “Clean it up!” I assumed the dinosaur was some sort of character that had been created for an anti-litter campaign. Well, what do I know?
I shared my photo with Prescot Online’s Facebook followers this morning and was amazed to discover the illustration is supposed to be a dog. The eagle-eyed can just about make out the poo, which makes sense of the caption.
At least one reader shared my view that it looked like more like a Tyrannosaurus Rex than a canine, although other Facebook friends have subjected me to great ridicule over my suggestion. One (now former) chum suggested I might have taken a knock to the head to have come up with such an idea.
So – dog or dinosaur? Be kind and assure me I’m not being all that unreasonable.
– Dave
PS Please clean up after your pets, prehistoric or otherwise.

I think you need to get out more maybe take up a hobby if that’s all you can complain about! Looks like a dog to me but hey who cares?

My eyes told me it was a ‘pooping’ dog right away. It’s your vivid imagination coming to the fore Dave. Of course we’d all see a dog on a leash but there is every reason in the world how you’d see a dinosaur! lol The image is a bit fuzzy though! pfffft
