Elizabethan Crafts at Prescot Market This Saturday
Prescot historian Rosemary Tyler will be demonstrating how wool was spun and dyed in Elizabethan times this Saturday, 1 June.
Rosemary, the former curator of Prescot Museum and a PhD scholar at Liverpool John Moores University, will join Prescot Renaissance and Prescot Town Team to celebrate the past and look to the future in the town centre, from 10.00am to 2.00pm.
There’ll be a chance to sample Elizabethan goodies, and view and buy crafts from the time. The event commemorates the ancient form of Prescot government known as the Court Leet.
It coincides with the monthly Prescot Producers’ Market, which opens at 9.00am on Eccleston Street. Stalls usually include crafts, deli treats and baked goods.
