Prescot Man in Court on Gun Charges

A man from Thomas Drive in Prescot will face court this morning (Friday 12 July) on firearms charges.

Philip Jameson, 29, is in custody and has been charged with conspiracy to  supply firearms and conspiracy to possess ammunition, following the recovery of a machine pistol and ammunition from a car on the M57 on Tuesday.

John Edwards, 48, of Railway Road, Southport, Glynn Icledon, 61, of Southport Road, Scarisbrick, and Steven Greenwood, 51, of Russell Road, Southport, are facing the same charges.

Joseph Seiga, 67, of Greensbridge Lane, Halewood, has been charged with conspiracy to supply firearms, conspiracy to possess ammunition and cultivation of cannabis.

A 47-year-old woman from Southport arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply firearms and a 56-year-old woman from Halewood arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis have both been bailed pending further enquiries.
