Friday 1 November . 3pm-9pm . Bryer Road Community Centre, Prescot . FUNFAIR & FIREWORKS DISPLAY . FREE fireworks display starts at 8pm, but the fun lasts all afternoon and evening, with stalls, face-painting, live entertainment, funfair and more. A charity event organised by Family Voices.

Saturday 2 November . 9am-2pm . Eccleston Street, Prescot . PRESCOT PRODUCERS’ MARKET . Fresh produce, deli goods, baked treats, crafts and more.

Saturday 2 November . 5.30pm . Whitakers Garden Centre, Prescot . ROTARY CLUB OF PRESCOT BONFIRE & FIREWORKS DISPLAY . Gates open 5.30pm, bonfire lit 6.15pm, fireworks 7pm. Tickets £5, £4 children or £14 family (2 adults + 2 children). Buy in advance from Whitakers. Proceeds go to Willowbrook Hospice and other local charities.

Saturday 2 & Sunday 3 November . 12 noon-4pm . Prescot Cemetery & Churchyard . CEMETERY CLEAN-UP . All volunteers welcome. Bring gloves, strong footwear and suitable clothing (waterproofs if necessary). Equipment provided.

Thursday 7 – Saturday 9 November . 7pm-11pm (Thu-Fri), 1pm-11pm (Sat) . Rainhill Recreation Club . RAINHILL BEER FESTIVAL . Over 100 real ales and ciders on offer this year. See Rainhillbeerfest.org.

Saturday 30 November . 3pm-5.30pm . Prescot town centre . PRESCOT CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH-ON . Father Christmas’s Grotto (free entry), Radio Roadshow, Little Donkey Rides, Children’s Fairground Rides, Willow Craft Workshop (free), light refreshments. Switch-on by Cllr David Rigby, Mayor of Prescot, at 5pm. Please arrive early to queue for Father Christmas, as it’s a busy time of year for him, and he has to leave at 5.20pm. (He’ll be back on Saturday 7 December, though!)

Saturday 30 November . 8pm . Whiston Town Hall . IRISH GUARDS SINGERS & STEW SUPPER . Doors open 7pm, bar 7.15pm. Tickets available in advance from the town hall, £5 (includes stew).
