Man Killed in Whiston Collision
A man died this morning (Tuesday 17 December) after being hit by a car on Scott Avenue, Whiston.
The 52-year-old pedestrian, who has not yet been named, was in a collision with a silver Renault Megane. Paramedics attended to him, but he was later pronounced dead.
Detectives believe the driver and the victim knew each other, and think he may have been deliberately run over.
A 33-year-old man from Whiston has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being questioned about the incident.
The car has been seized and is being examined for forensic evidence, and the area has been cordoned off as detectives investigate.
