A 52-year-old man killed in Whiston yesterday (Tuesday 17 December) has been identified as Michael Fennah.
Mr Fennah was hit by a car on Scott Avenue at about 9am yesterday. Neighbours said he had just returned from taking his son to school.
Witnesses say he was run over by a silver Renault Megane several times. A post mortem later concluded he died of head injuries.
Nathan James Kenny, 33, of Braemar Close, Whiston, was arrested shortly afterwards. Police have confirmed he has now been charged with murder.
The suspect and the victim knew each other.
