merseyside_apprentice_graduation_cathedralYoung apprentices from Prescot and beyond will have a formal graduation at Liverpool Cathedral next month.

The event will be the biggest of its kind in the UK  – and the first ever in the North West – and aims to honour up to 1,000 graduates from Knowsley and other Merseyside boroughs.

The grads all earned their Level 3 and 4 NVQs in work placements during 2012 and 2013.

Claudia Naisby, who gained her qualifications at Butterworth Barlow Chartered Accountants in Prescot, said she “thoroughly enjoyed” her apprenticeship.

“It has been great to learn skills on the job whilst also completing my Level 2 and Level 3 AAT Accounting Qualification,” she said. “I am also due to complete my Level 4 Diploma in the summer.

“I think the Apprenticeship Graduation is a great idea and I can’t wait to attend the ceremony.”

Potential graduates will receive a letter explaining how they can register themselves and two guests for a free ticket to the event.

The graduation takes place at Liverpool Cathedral on Tuesday 29 April, with ceremonies at 2.30pm and 6.30pm to accommodate the expected big turnout.
