Tour of Britain Back at Safari Park, Prescot
The Tour of Britain returns to Prescot for the third consecutive year this September.
There will be no time trials in the town this year, but Stage 2 of the high-profile cycle race will begin at Knowsley Safari Park on Monday 8 September.
Activities for all ages start at 9am, and the racers depart at 10.15am.
The route takes cyclists along the Prescot bypass, right onto St Helens Road, then down High Street, Church Street, Market Place, Sewell Street and via Carr Lane into Huyton.
The 197-kilometre (122-mile) stage ends in Llandudno, North Wales.
Entry to the Safari Park is free on 8 September, but visitors must arrive before 9.45am.
The Tour of Britain is the UK’s biggest cycle race and once again, it will be televised live on ITV4 to a global audience.
