West Park RFC Supports Willowbrook Hospice
West Park RFC has a thriving Charity Partnership with Willowbrook Hospice – a partnership that sees the Willowbrook logo across 300 rugby shirts worn by players from age 5 to 50.
The new kit has also been sponsored by local companies including G R Taylor & Co, Henderson Homes, Specsavers St Helens and Velocity Heath clubs.
The kit was launched at a match attended by over 500 players and fans from every age group in the club and was officially presented by Nicola Saunders, Fundraising Manager of Willowbrook Hospice.
“Thank you to everybody who worked so hard to make this new partnership such a great success,” Nicola said.
“We thoroughly enjoyed meeting everybody, seeing the new facilities and watching the game. The kit looks great, and we are really excited about the season ahead.”
The club has taken some giant leaps in the last year, adding a girls section and an under-18s group, along with running three senior teams and another eight teams in the mini-junior sections.
It was important that they upgraded the facilities to take the club forward and also to forge stronger links with the local community.
West Park RFC run a thriving mini-junior section supporting rugby union development across the area and always has paces for new players.
If you are interested in playing and between the ages of six and 16, give us a call on 01744 26138 or 07932 796404, or come along at 6:30 on a Wednesday (next to Carmel College, on Prescot Road). All our coaches are fully trained, and the club is a friendly and fun place to try out rugby.
