Vee’s Place

Meet Vee – she’s a woman with a mission to restore community spirit to Prescot, through Vee’s Place, an all-ages community centre on Kemble Street.

“We’re here for everyone,” she says, “from age eight to 110.”

The vision for Vee’s Place is to have a place where people of all ages and backgrounds, including the most vulnerable in the community, can come to learn, socialise and find out what opportunities are out there for them.

Vee’s Place relaunch

Relaunching in November 2014, Vee’s Place occupies the Zion Independent Methodist Church building, at the junction of Kemble Street and Cyprus Street. Since moving in, Vee and her team have installed a computer suite, a hydrotherapy pool and other facilities.

Vee’s Place is open from 11am to 6pm every weekday, and you can grab a hot drink any time, or a light lunch and a drink for just one or two pounds between 12 noon and 1pm.

Use the opportunity to chat to staff, make new friends, or find out what’s going on in the centre. Vee’s Place is also an information hub, where you can discover what local services are available to you, whatever your needs and situation.

Vee’s Place wants your views

Would you like social activities like bingo and clubs? Are you a young person looking for employment and training opportunities? Do you want to take part in something that boosts your confidence and gives you a head start in life? Do you have a special need or interest but can’t find suitable groups in the area?

Vee and the team want to hear what sort of activities and programmes you’d like to see at Vee’s Place.
