centrefeatMore change is afoot in Prescot town centre and Cables Retail Park.

In Prescot Shopping Centre, Superdrug has finally closed its doors. The Dance Shop moves into the mall in April, however. The new retailer won a year’s rental of a fully customised unit in One Ark’s second annual Win-a-Shop competition.

Elsewhere in the town centre, high street bakery Greggs will leave Prescot when its lease runs out in the summer. News of the closure comes weeks after rival Poundbakery opened a branch of its discount a few doors further along Eccleston Street.

Meanwhile, at Cables Retail Park, Poundstretcher will be replaced by clothes store TK Maxx if planning permission for a back extension, new frontage and a mezzanine is granted. The application was submitted on 18 February.
