elizabethanfayreThis year’s Elizabethan Fayre, on Saturday 6 June, promises visitors an opportunity to be transported back four centuries.

The distinctly Tudor entertainment includes live demonstrations of traditional crafts such as pottery, spinning, basket-making, willow-making, wood-turning and blacksmithing.

Listen to live Mediaeval music, see birds of prey first-hand, and ascend the bell tower of Prescot Parish Church to enjoy spectacular views across Merseyside.

The event, on Church Street in the town centre, also features face-painting and circus skills for children, as well as an exclusive performance by the cast of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

While the Elizabethan Fayre runs from 10am to 3pm, the nearby Prescot Producers’ Market offers fresh produce, baked treats and more, between 9am and 2pm.

On the same day, Prescot Town Team presents a new indoor Prescot Arts & Crafts Fair, in Prescot Shopping Centre.

If you’d like to get involved in the Elizabethan Fayre or if you’d like to have a stall at the producers’ market, call Knowsley Culture Development and Events Service on 0151 443 5749 or email heritage.shop59@gmail.com.
