Mum, Head Teacher Pay Tribute to Patrick Woosey

patrick_woosey_stockbridge_villageThe mother of the late Patrick Woosey has thanked those who helped in the search for her son.

Patrick, 17, went missing from his home in Stockbridge Village on Friday 30 October. Police found a body in Huyton on Wednesday 4 November, and have now confirmed it is that of Patrick Woosey.

Mother Thanks Public for Support

In a public post on Facebook, mother Maxine Smith thanked everyone for their “amazing support and kindness,” which she said had been “overwhelming.”

She added that “words cannot describe how we are all feeling right now.”

Maxine asked for privacy as the family mourn Patrick’s death, and requested that people help by taking down any “missing” posters they see.

Head Teacher Describes Popular Young Man

Patrick was a sixth-form student at the Studio School, Liverpool. Principal Shaun McInerney paid the teenager tribute, saying he was “a very likeable young man, popular with both his peers and his teachers.”

Patrick “had made many close friends here and will be sadly missed.”

He sent his condolences to the family and said that the school would remain open on 5 November to offer support to grieving students.

Police are treating Patrick’s death as unexplained. A post-mortem will take place to establish the cause of death.
