Share Your Ideas for Public Art in Prescot
Organisers of a new public art project are inviting Prescot residents to share their creative ideas.
Art curator Cathy Newberry has been commissioned by Knowsley Council to work with members of the public to bring Prescot town centre to life with art over the next five years.
The aim is to create and install sculptures, statues and other types of art that reflect the personality and heritage of the town.
All are welcome to share their ideas at either or both of two drop-in sessions, with Cathy Newberry and Prescot artist Sue McHugh :
- Saturday 6 February, 9am-4pm, Prescot Shopping Centre (Work in Progress shop on the upper floor)
- Wednesday 17 February, 2pm-4pm & 5pm-7pm, Prescot Town Hall
A long-term strategy for public art, using ideas from the consultation, will be unveiled in an exhibition at Prescot Shopping Centre in March 2016.
For more information about the project, call Cathy Newbery on 07770 714103 or email cathy@cathynewbery.co.uk, or call Jo Dry at Knowsley Council on 0151 443 5349 or email jo.dry@knowsley.gov.uk.
