Information Wanted about Prescot Fire
Via Merseyside Police:
Merseyside Police is appealing for information after a suspected arson at an unoccupied house in Prescot last week.
Around 3.00pm on Friday, 29 January, a fire was reported at 63 Molyneux Drive, Prescot, which resulted in severe damage to the house.
The fire is being treated as suspicious and the police are working closely with a fire investigator to establish the cause. Forensic enquiries are ongoing.
Prescot Neighbourhood Inspector Graeme Webster said: “We are keen to speak anyone who saw people acting suspiciously near to this location around 3.00pm, especially anyone seen inside or close to the house.
“The last tenant recently moved out so, thankfully, there was nobody in the house at the time of this offence, but this could so easily have had tragic consequences for any occupants, and for nearby properties.”
Anyone with information can call the dedicated Prescot and Halewood Neighbourhood team on (0151) 777 6332, call 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
