Police Arrest Whiston Man over Stockbridge Village Shooting
Police investigating a shooting in Stockbridge Village three weeks ago arrested a man in Whiston last night (Tuesday 9 February).
Officers from Huyton neighbourhood support team arrested the 25-year-old at around 9pm at his home address.
He will be questioned today by detectives from the Matrix Serious Organised Crime unit on suspicion of possession of a firearm, wounding, and possession of Class A and B drugs.
The firearms discharge happened at a house in Steerscroft in Stockbridge Village on the afternoon of January 14.
Three offenders forced their way into the house looking to steal a bike and, when confronted by the victim, who was himself a visitor at the property, shot him in the leg.
Two men aged 17 and 18 from Walton and Kirkby, respectively, were arrested a few days after the shooting and remain on conditional police bail, pending further enquiries.
