Police Appeal for Info after Prescot Stabbing

Via Merseyside Police:

Detectives are appealing for information after a 22-year-old man was stabbed in his car in Prescot this afternoon (Sunday 13 March).

The emergency services were called to reports that a man had been stabbed in Hayes Avenue, Prescot, shortly before 2pm. The victim had been taken to hospital by friends where he was treated for superficial injuries to his hand, right ear and forehead.

It is believed that the victim was sat in his car, which was parked on Hayes Avenue, when he was stabbed by one of two men who then escaped in a silver Landrover. The Landrover is believed to have driven off towards Warrington Road.

The investigation is in its early stages and the motive for the attack is unknown. The victim is not co-operating the police at this stage.

House-to-house inquiries are being undertaken in the area and the car has been taken away for forensic examination. CCTV footage is also being examined.
