Man Assaulted in Rainhill High School Car Park

Merseyside Police is appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Rainhill yesterday (Thursday 24 March).

At about 9pm, a 39-year-old man was in the car park of Rainhill High School, Warrington Road.

He was approached from behind by a man, described as white and in his 30s, who punched him to the head twice before biting him to the ear. He attended hospital after sustaining bruising and cuts to the face and ear, and swelling to his lips.

A full investigation has now been been launched.

Detective Sergeant Jim Starkey said: “This appears to be an unprovoked assault and it has left the victim extremely shaken.

“The incident happened at a time when there may have been a number of people in the area heading home and I’d appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the assault to get in touch with us. Any information could prove vital in our investigation.”
