Shakespeare’s As You Like It Coming to Prescot This Summer
MATE Productions will make the grounds of Prescot Parish Church and Vicarage their stage again when they perform William Shakespeare’s comedy As You Like It this summer.
To promote the show, they’ve commandeered the people of Prescot – including local business owners, MATE cast members and even the Vicar of Prescot – to star in a short film of one the play’s most famous speeches, which begins “All the world’s a stage.”
Working in partnership with Shakespeare North and the RSC Open Stages programme, MATE present this tale of romance and hilarity on Saturday-Sunday 4-5 June and Saturday-Sunday 30-31 July 2016.
They’ll also be taking their production to Calderstones Park, Sudley House Gardens, St Nicholas’s Church Halewood and the RSC in Stratford-upon-Avon, the Bard’s place of birth.
As You Like It features cast and crew from among the local community, supported by a team of theatrical and creative professionals. It follows on their hit production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream in June 2015.
