Man Injured in Dennett Road, Prescot, Shooting
Via Merseyside Police:
Detectives from the force’s Matrix team are tonight (Wednesday, 4 May) investigating an injury discharge in Prescot.
The incident is thought to have taken place at around 8.40pm, in Dennett Road, when a 33-year–old man was shot in the legs with what was thought to be a shotgun. He travelled to hospital, where he continues to be treated for his injuries, which are not thought to be serious.
Enquiries are at a very early stage and at this time the motive for the attack is unclear. Detectives are working to piece together the full circumstances of the incident.
The area has been cordoned off while enquiries are carried out. House to house enquiries have begun, CCTV is being sought and the scene will be forensically examined. Patrols have also been stepped up in the area to reassure the local community.
