Armistice Day & Remembrance Sunday 2016 in Prescot
Prescot Town Council commemorates Armistice Day with a civic service this Friday, 11 November.
The short ceremony takes place at 10.50am by the BI Memorial in Prescot Cemetery.
To mark the occasion, the Friends of Prescot Cemetery & Churchyard have once again created a ‘Field of Poppies’ surrounding the monument. It will be on display from Thursday 10 November to Sunday 13 November.
Remembrance Sunday takes place on 13 November, with a march leaving Prescot County Primary School, Maryville Road, a 10.25am. Anyone wishing to take part in the parade should gather from 9.40am onwards.
The march arrives at the War Memorial on Market Place in time for a Civic Act of Remembrance at 10.50am, with the customary silence at 11am and a service in St Mary’s (Prescot Parish) Church afterwards.
