Prescot Christmas Lights Switch-on 2016
Prescot Town Council have announced the date and times for this year’s big Christmas light switch-on.
The festivities take place on Saturday 3 December on Eccleston Street, from 2.30pm to 5.30pm. Attractions include little donkey rides, fairground rides and live entertainment from the winners of Prescot’s Got Talent, MATE Community Choir and Jan’s School of Dance.
The Mayor of Prescot will have a selection box-giveaway before he and Miss Prescot light up Prescot for the Christmas season.
The council have organised the event in association with Geraud’s Market Village and Prescot Town Team.
Christmas Markets in Prescot
But the fun begins earlier in the day, with Prescot Producers’ Market on Eccleston Street and Prescot Arts, Craft & Gift Fayre in Prescot Shopping Centre both starting at 9am.
Scrooge! & Santa’s Grotto
Meanwhile, MATE Productions present A Pop-up Christmas Carol in the shopping centre, with performances on the hour, every hour, from 10am to 4pm.
For £6, children can see the show, then visit Santa’s Grotto, where they’ll take part in Christmasy crafts before seeing Santa himself and receiving a photo and a gift.
Accompanying adults pay just £2.50.
