Tempest Returning to Prescot 15 July

MATE Productions’ hit staging of The Tempest returns to Prescot on Saturday 15 July.

The Prescot-based company has toured Merseyside throughout June and July with its spectacular production of Shakespeare’s play. Before it goes to the RSC – in the Bard’s birthplace of Stratford-upon-Avon – the cast will come home for one final weekend of shows.

In the celebrated tragicomedy, an ageing wizard exiled on an enchanted island uses a fierce storm to entrap his enemies, including the brother who betrayed him. But with magical powers at his fingertips, will Prospero seize the opportunity to take revenge or decide instead to forgive?

A special schools’ performance takes place on Friday 14 July, and the public have a chance to see the show at 2pm and 7pm on Saturday 15 July in Prescot Woodland Theatre, in the grounds of Prescot Parish Church and Vicarage.

Buy your tickets at JJ’s Closet (Jessies Jewels) on Leyland Street, Prescot, online at www.mateproductions.co.uk/box-office or by phone to 0844 8000 410.
