Prescot Man Arrested on Terrorism Suspicions
A man from Prescot was among five men arrested on suspicion of plotting terrorist acts earlier this week.
The 33-year-old, who has not been named, was taken into custody as part of raids on members of the neo-Nazi group National Action.
Four others, from Seaforth, Newton-le-Willows and Warrington, are also suspected of planning terrorist activity, while another six from across the country are being held for lesser terror-related offences.
National Action had planned a march in Liverpool in 2015, but it was called off due to opposition from anti-fascist groups. They were officially named as a terrorist group and banned by the government in December 2016.
