Witnesses Wanted to Adam Ellison Murder

Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of Adam Ellison are continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Adam was walking along a pedestrianised area in Market Place, Prescot, at 12.40am on Saturday 4 November with friends when he became involved in an argument with people on a motorbike.

During the incident he was stabbed in the neck with an unknown weapon. He was taken to hospital for surgery but sadly passed away that morning.

Detectives are still looking to trace the bike – believed to be a green Kawasaki KX85 Big Wheel – or anyone who may have seen it being ridden around the Prescot either before or after Adam was attacked. Officers also want to speak to three females who it is believed were approached in the area by males on a similar bike on the same evening.

They are also keen to speak to anyone who was in the Old Mill public house on Mill Street in Prescot between 10pm and closing time on the evening of Friday 3 November as it is believed they could also assist with the investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector John Middleton said: “We are currently examining a number of lines of enquiry but would continue to appeal for people to come forward with any information they may have.

“Adam’s family deserve to have the answers to what happened to Adam that night. Any bit of information may prove to be vital to helping us get those answers.

“The bike was very distinctive and I am sure that somebody would recognise it or has seen it been ridden around the Prescot area in the past few weeks and months.

“We also know that the Old Mill public house would have been really busy on that Friday night. People who were in the pub may have information which could assist us and I would ask them to get in touch.”

Two arrested over Ellison murder

A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with Adam’s murder and released, pending further investigation. A juvenile male was also arrested on suspicion of murder and has been released on bail.

Prescot vigil against violence

A vigil against knife crime and violence takes place this Sunday, 26 November, at 3.30pm in Prescot Parish Church.

Friends of Adam Ellison have organised the community event in honour of him and Tommy Grace, another Prescot man murdered in October.
