Luxury Hotel for Site of Imperial Pub, Prescot
The former site of the Imperial pub, opposite Prescot Railway Station, will become home to a luxury boutique hotel.
The fondly remembered pub, on the corner of Bridge Road and Station Road, burned down in 2012 and was later completely demolished.
Two years after the demolition, Knowsley Council have approved plans for a 27-room hotel with restaurant, bar, function rooms and a car park.
The hotel will have a Shakespearean theme to complement the new Shakespeare North theatre in Prescot town centre, due to open in 2020.
Construction on the hotel is expected to begin in the new year, with completion in late 2018.
Local developer John Doran said he’d chosen to invest in the town because he was “really excited about the transformation happening in Prescot.”
