Second Senior Cup Win for Prescot Cables?
Prescot Cables Football Club are set to win the Senior Cup for the second year running.
The lads stormed to a 2-0 victory over Southport FC in last year’s Liverpool County FA Senior Cup. It was the first time the club had taken the trophy in its then-133-year history, and the second consecutive year they had reached the final.
Now Cables has a second chance to scoop the cup, having beaten Litherland REMYCA 4-0 at home in last night’s semifinal (Thursday 19 April). Harry Cain scored twice, and Dan Burns and Dom Murphy once each to clinch the match.
Cables dedicated the game to long-time cables fan Andy Maund, who sadly passed away last weekend.
The 2018 Liverpool County FA Senior Cup final takes place away to Marine (Crosby) on Thursday 26 April at 7.45pm.
