By on Wednesday, May 9, 2018

(Merseyside Police) We are appealing for information following a burglary at a clothes shop in Prescot.

A report was received at 6.45am on Tuesday 8 May that offenders had forced entry to the front door of the Dressing Room, on Church Street. An untidy search was made of the ground floor area and a till was taken, which contained cash.

The till was later retrieved nearby and the cash had been taken.

It is believed the burglary happened between 11.10am on Monday 7 December and 6.45am on Tuesday 8 May.

Community Inspector Philip Mullally said: “This is an independent business and the owner is understandably devastated that it has been targeted.

“It’s shameful that there are people out there who think it is acceptable to destroy other people’s hard work in this way.

“We are determined to put those responsible before the courts and I would appeal to people who may have seen anything suspicious around the Church Street area on Monday into Tuesday to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw anything suspicious that could help is asked to contact Merseyside Police social media desk via Twitter @MerPolCC or Facebook Merseyside Police CC. You can also call 101 quoting incident 18200094599 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or via their online form at:
