Reprieve for 139 Bus Users in Prescot & Whiston
The 139 bus service has become the 239 and will continue along a modified route between Broadgreen Hospital and Prescot, via Huyton.
Cumfybus stopped the service in August, but regular passengers across Liverpool and Knowsley complained that it left key areas without a bus service. In particular, the 139 is the only remaining route serving Cumber Lane and Lickers Lane in Whiston.
Talks between MerseyTravel, Knowsley Council and the transport operator saved the bus route, however, and the revised service will continue to run. Where the previous service continued to the city centre, however, it will now end in Broad Green, where users can transfer to other services for Liverpool.
The half-hourly, circular service runs from Monday to Saturday. Click here for the full timetable.
