Prescot Remembrance Concert Planned for WWI Centenary
A concert in Prescot Parish Church will commemorate 100 years since the end of World War One (1914-1918).
Musical guests Parr Brass Band will perform at the WWI Centenary Celebration Concert on Friday 9 November, with readings of war-related poetry and prose from members of the community. A highlight of the evening will be a selection of wartime songs, with which the audience can sing along.
For the first time, the Friends of Prescot Cemetery & Churchyard, the Prescot Festival and the parish itself have teamed up to organise the event.
Wine and nibbles will follow approximately an hour and a quarter of music, and everything is included in the ticket price of £5 (on the door). Under-16s are free when accompanied by a paying adult.
The WWI Centenary Celebration Concert takes place from 7pm to 8.15pm on Friday 9 November at Prescot Parish Church.
