A group of Prescot town centre businesses were hailed ‘Judge’s Choice’ at an awards ceremony earlier this month.

Restaurateurs, bakers, florists and artists were among those named Prescot Ambassadors, championed at the Knowsley Business Awards for their role in rejuvenating the historic town, both culturally and economically.

In a specially produced video, winners such as Pinion Bistro chef Gary Usher, MATE Productions director Gaynor La Rocca, Dance Shop owner Cath O’Grady and Michelle Ray of Ray’s Bakery – a beloved Prescot establishment for almost a century – spoke of the positivity, vision and sense of community in the town.

Prescot is seeing a flurry of new eateries, bars and independent businesses open as it awaits the opening of the new Shakespeare North Playhouse.
