More Shakespeare Coming to Prescot This August
The Lord Chamberlain’s Men will bring Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream to Prescot on Thursday 8 August.
The best-loved of the Bard’s comedies, Dream transports us to the enchanted woodlands of the Athenian countryside, a magical world inhabited by imps and sprites, a feuding fairy king and queen, quarrelling young lovers and a bawdy troupe of actors.
The company – made up entirely of men, even in the women’s roles, as in Shakespeare’s day – counts historic Knowsley Hall among more than 30 venues it tours each summer across the UK.
Audiences are invited to bring chairs, blankets and a picnic to make the most of the outdoor experience.
Tickets are £15 for adults and £10 for children, and are available to buy online at knowsleyhallvenue.co.uk. Find out more about the Lord Chamberlain’s Men at tlcm.co.uk.
