Volunteers Sew Scrubs to Support Knowsley, St Helens NHS

By on Thursday, April 16, 2020

A group of determined volunteers are supporting frontline NHS staff by sewing scrubs for St Helens and Whiston Hospitals.

The team, from across the two boroughs, have already raised over £1,500 – enough to create more than 200 pairs of scrubs – and are now appealing to the public for support.

Volunteer Trish Taylor said, “We are looking for experienced sewers who can volunteer a few hours a week.

“They must have their own machines, but we will provide fabric, pattern and ongoing support.”

The team are hoping to make their first drop off of scrubs to the local hospital trust within the next few days.
