Rainhill Remembers WWI with Exhibition, Website
Rainhill Civic Society have paid tribute to their village’s role in World War One with an exhibition and a new website.
Rainhillremembers.uk is packed with historical information, artefacts and photographs documenting local soldiers of WWI – both the fallen and those who survived.
Other sections of the site remember the hospitals that served Rainhill during the War, as well as the memorials that still stand today.
Rainhill WWI Exhibition: 10, 12 & 14 November 2015
To coincide with the website launch, and to follow up on a successful exhibition in 2014, the society are hosting another WWI exhibition at St Ann’s Millennium Centre on View Road, Rainhill.
The opening times are 12 noon to 4pm on Tuesday 10 and Thursday 12 November, and 10am to 4pm on Saturday 14 November. Entry is free.
Members have also produced a booklet, Rainhill Remembers… the First World War, which is available at the exhibition for £3.50 or online at rainhill-civic-society.org.uk.
