More on Carr Lane, Prescot, Waste Site & Housing Development
Yesterday, I reported that a commercial and industrial waste facility will be built at the old Pirelli/Prysmian/BICC Cables site on Carr Lane, Prescot. There is also talk of a housing development on the adjacent or surrounding land, and there appears to be conflicting information about how the two projects tie together.
Knowsley Council’s planning department have confirmed that the location shown on the planning application from July 2011 is up-to-date and as seen in the aerial map (right, courtesy Google Maps). This application has been granted, so the waste recycling and recovering facility will definitely go ahead.
There has also been an application for a housing development in the same area. This is pending, so planning permission has not yet been granted. The proposed site (left) would actually overlap with the waste facility, so it presumably can’t be approved as it is at the moment.
