When BGT Brothers Richard and Adam Came to Prescot
Britain’s Got Talent sensations Richard and Adam Johnson made a concert appearance in Prescot long before Simon Cowell laid eyes on them.
The singing duo are long-time members of the Birkenhead Operatic Society, one of the North West’s most acclaimed amateur musical theatre companies. The group, also known as BOST, have made several visits to the annual Prescot Festival over the past eight years.
In 2010, it was Richard (right) and Adam’s time to shine, when they duetted as part of an evening of songs from the shows on the stage of the Prescot Methodist Centre.
Three years later, they amazed the BGT panel of judges with their version of The Impossible Dream. The Welsh pair, who work in their parents’ sandwich shop when they’re not singing on cruises, are a hit with audiences, too – bookies predict they’ll win second place in the ITV competition after getting through Monday night’s semifinal, when they sang a stirring rendition of Somewhere, from the hit Broadway musical West Side Story.

BOST will be back in Prescot (presumably without the now-world-famous Johnson brothers!) with more songs from the shows on Friday 21 June. See www.prescotfestival.co.uk for more information.
